Mishaal: Israel couldn’t achieve victory over resistance

[ 16/01/2009 - 08:05 PM ]

DOHA, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the head OF Hamas's political bureau said Friday that the Israeli occupation government isn’t any more capable of achieving any victory over the Palestinian resistance, underlining that the Palestinian resistance factions won't accept Israeli conditions for ceasefire.

Mishaal was speaking before Arab and Muslim leaders who flocked into the Qatari capital Doha to attend the Arab summit called for by Qatar to discuss the Israeli occupation aggression on Gaza despite the absence of a number of Arab leaders, including Mahmoud Abbas among others.
The Hamas supreme political official also accused the Israeli occupation army of committing war crimes against Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip after they failed to defeat the Palestinian resistance.

He urged the summit to seriously mobilize on all levels to file lawsuits against the Israeli occupation government over the carnage in Gaza, stressing that the Palestinian resistance factions won't bow to the Israeli conditions for ceasefire because the resistance is still strong on the ground.

"Today, Israel isn’t able to achieve victory over the resistance, imagine how would the situation be had the entire Ummah faced it united", underlined Mishaal, explaining that the US administration doesn’t have the dominance it had before, and thus, he added, it shouldn’t impose dictates anymore on the region.

The Hamas official also called on the Arab summit to adopt the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people namely: halting the Israeli aggression, lifting the unjust siege, opening all crossing points, and the immediate pullout of the IOF troops from the Strip, in addition to holding the Israeli occupation government solely responsible for the carnage and destruction in the Gaza Strip.

In addition, Mishaal underscored the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupation with all available means till the occupation is removed, inviting Arab leaders to severe all ties with the Zionist entity.

Finally, Mishaal urged the Arab and Muslim leaders to support the call of Qatar's Amir to rebuild the Gaza Strip and to sponsor real and genuine inter-Palestinian reconciliation.

Emergency summit in Qatar to try and stop fighting in Gaza:

"An emergency summit has been held in Qatar to try and stop the fighting in Gaza. It was atteneded by the presidents of Iran, Sudan, Senegal and Syria who declared Arab-led initiatives as 'dead'."
