[ 28/03/2010 - 10:09 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)-- Thousands of Palestinians participated on Saturday in a ceremony organized by Islamic Jihad Movement entitled “Jerusalem’s cry from Gaza to the Arab summit.”

During the ceremony, secretary-general of Islamic Jihad Ramadan Shallah in a speech over the phone called on the Arab summit to withdraw the peace initiative, protect the occupied city of Jerusalem and break Gaza siege.

Shallah also called for ending the project of what he called the Oslo authority and unleash the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank to confront the Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, their land and holy sites.

For their part, a number of noted independent Arab figures appealed to the Arab leaders meeting in Libya to support the Palestinian resistance factions so as they can confront the Israeli occupation and its settlement drive and Judaization activities in Palestine.

In a joint statement, more than 60 jurists, academics and intellectuals also called for taking real steps to save Jerusalem and break the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
