PFLP: Abbas's Madrid-Oslo approach brought woes on the Palestinians

GAZA, (PIC)-- Senior official of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Rabah Muhanna stated that the Madrid-Olso approach which de facto president Mahmoud Abbas is still adherent to only brought disasters on the Palestinian people and their national cause.

Muhanna made his remarks in a political symposium organized by the Arab front for resistance under the auspices of the Arab affairs committee of the press syndicate in Cairo on Sunday.

He added that this approach achieved nothing for the Palestinian cause and gave the Israeli occupation more chance to escalate its racist and Judaization activities in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He also said that the last meeting of the Palestine liberation organization's (PLO) executive committee, in which the decision of the direct peace talks with the Israeli occupation was taken, was attended by only nine out of 18 members, although the regular quorum of such meeting is 12 members, adding that only six members voted for the decision.

The PFLP official noted the central council of the PLO rejected the direct talks with the Israeli occupation without an Israeli pledge to halt settlement activities, but the Fatah-controlled executive committee flouted that using its hegemony over the PLO's institutions.

In the same context, Hamas spokesman in Khan Younis Hammad Al-Raqb said that Fatah and its authority in Ramallah are chasing the mirage of peace talks with the Israeli occupation and their greatest joy is to hear a western or American diplomat promising to make achievements that are still illusions on the ground.

"It is clear that Fatah headed by its leader Abbas put itself in big trouble when it accepted the negotiations as the only option because the process of negotiations since its start until now have led to further loss for the Palestinian cause," spokesman Raqb added.

The spokesman called on Fatah and its authority to demonstrate good faith through releasing all Palestinian prisoners in their jails and stopping their security cooperation with the Israeli occupation state.
