GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, Hamad Al-Ruqub has urged the armed wings of resistance factions to capture more Israeli soldiers to trade them for Palestinian prisoners.
Ruqub, speaking at a ceremony in honor of the recently liberated prison Bilal Abu Dakka, said that captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit would never be released without meeting the demands of his captors.
Abu Dakka, for his part, said that the Palestinian prisoners were looking forward to their freedom and to the liberation of Jerusalem and Palestine.
He said that Palestinian prisoners are the constant target of oppressive campaigns by the Israeli prison administrations.
For its part, the Islamic Jihad movement said that it was working “seriously and silently” for the liberation of all Palestinian prisoners.
Jihad leader Ahmed Al-Mudalal, speaking during a visit by a Jihad delegation to recently liberated prisoners south of the Strip, said that liberating prisoners was a “religious, national, ethical, and humanitarian duty”.
Tarek, the eldest son of Mudalal, has been serving a 14-year sentence in Israeli occupation jails since 2004.
