Netanyahu: ‘UNHRC is anti-Israel’

On March 22 – the UN Human Rights Council voted to appoint a panel charged with evaluating the effects of illegal Jewish settlements on the civil, political, economic, social and cutural rights of native Muslim and Christian Palestinian in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. United States was the only country in the 47-member UNHRC which opposed the decision while ten members abstained.

The independent international fact-finding mission is to be appointed by the president of UNHRC. The decision also called on the Zionist regime “not to obstruct the process of investigation and cooperate fully with the mission“.

As expected, Israeli prime minister Benji Netanyahu, blasted the UNHRC, calling it a “hypocritical council with an automatic majority against Israel“. Bibi added that the council “should be ashamed of itself, and has nothing to do with the human rights“.

The Jerusalem Post has quoted Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Liberman as saying that he will recall Israeli ambassador to UNHRC and that Israel would not cooperate with the fact-finding mission.
Bush administration left the UNHRC due to its criticism of Washington’s blind support for Israel’s human rights violations against Palestinian. However, Barck Obama rejoined UNHRC in 2009 sensing America’s increasing isolation from the 115-member Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) nations which have supported unanimously approved Iran’s nuclear program as a NPT signatory.

The Jewish lobby groups and US lawmakers are furious over UNHRC’s decision. Anti-Iran Jewish Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), chairwomen of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the “Obama administration’s efforts to turn the council more pro-Israel have failed“.

The Israel lobby group, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has urged Washington to leave the UNHRC. “This resolution makes a mockery of human rights by focusing its efforts on bullying Israel while completely ignoring serious humanitarian violations across the world,” the group said in a statement.

The PA and Syrian ambassadors accused the Zionist regime of occupying their ancestral lands (Palestine and Golan Heights).

Israel has been committing gross human rights violations on daily basis since the day it was established illegally in May 1948. It has killed thousands of babies, young kids, women and elderly people. Its Jewish soldiers have used Palestinians as human shields or hostages during raid on Palestinian houses. These human rights violations have been reported by UNHRC, Israeli Watchdog B’Tselem, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, NGOs, Russell Tribunal and even US State Department have been critical of Israeli policies toward its Jewish and non-Jewish minorities and land grab.
Israel has more than 6,500 Palestinian civilian prisoners including PA lawmakers and Hamas cabinet minister that its Jewish soldiers abducted or arrested from Gaza, the West Bank, Golan Heights and Lebanon.

Israel has refused to accept its human rights abuses reported by former US President Jimmy Carter and two internationally known Jewish academics, Judge Richard Goldstone and professor Richard Falk. The Israeli Hasbara goons ran such a vicious smearing campaigns against those three that they’re forced to apology to Jews for different personal reasons.
